14-Year-Old Delhi Boy Traced and Recovered With Sewa Nyaya Utthan Help

New Delhi: A 14-year-old boy from the Karala area of Rohini, Delhi, who had gone missing on 9 August 2026, was safely recovered on the night of 13 August 2026 after being traced in Haldwani, Nainital district, Uttarakhand.

The recovery follows a coordinated escalation by Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation (SNU). After the boy went missing from his residence in the evening, our team assisted the family in ensuring an FIR was registered with the concerned police station in Delhi, under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which deals with kidnapping from lawful guardianship of a minor.

We then filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on 12 August 2026, seeking urgent intervention in the matter. Taking cognisance of the complaint, the NHRC issued notice to the concerned authority the following day, on 13 August 2026, directing that the matter be examined. Acting on the case, Delhi Police traced the boy’s phone location to Haldwani in Nainital district, Uttarakhand.

Following this lead, our team member travelled to Haldwani along with the boy’s family. The local team of Sudarshan Vahini in Haldwani coordinated with residents in the area, which led to the boy being located working at a restaurant and safely recovered on the night of 13 August 2026.

We welcomed the boy’s safe recovery and reunion with his family, and will continue to remain in touch with them to ensure his continued safety and wellbeing. The boy, who is in Class 9, has not yet revealed much, except that he ran away on his own in order to start earning.
