Co-organised a major event at the Constitution Club of India, Delhi, where over 200 activists, lawyers and community leaders from all across India gathered, held discussions and signed a joint declaration opposing lowering of age of consent from 18 to 16
Addressed media at a special press conference at Press Club of India, Delhi, sharing information about the Age of Consent matter in Supreme Court and our legal intervention
A minor girl missing for three weeks from Gopalganj in Bihar was safely recovered after our complaint was taken up by National Human Rights Commission on priority. The girl is undergoing counselling and rehabilitation
Notice issued to Lucknow police and district administration to add Drugs and Magic Remedies Act to an FIR for illegal conversions, after our complaint to NHRC
Officially intervened for compensation and rehabilitation for a bereaved family in Delhi’s Krishna Nagar after murder of a male member by passengers who booked his cab through an app-based service but killed him for robbing his vehicle – a pattern already flagged to authorities by Sewa Nyaya Utthan
Conducted an educational session for vulnerable citizens in Rohini, Delhi, about anti-conversion laws enacted by various states and exploitation tactics used by faith-healing rackets
Organised two separate special self-defence workshops for schoolchildren in Jodhpur to teach them defence against street violence and assaults
Financially aided a Divyang-run centre in Delhi’s Okhla Nagar that provides free-of-cost education, computer literacy and nutritious meals to 100 underprivileged, slum-dwelling children daily
Regular Martial Arts classes held for 150 children and youth enrolled at Sewa Nyaya Utthan’s Jodhpur training centre that has been operational for over two years

𝟏. 𝗟𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟴 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟲

We escalated our sustained campaign against lowering of the age of consent in a major way this week. On 7 August, over 200 activists, lawyers, jurists and community leaders gathered at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi for a National Consultation and unanimously signed a declaration opposing any move to bring the statutory age down from 18 to 16 years. Sewa Nyaya Utthan supported the event which was organised by NAMO Foundation.
Sanjeev Newar and Swati Goel Sharma spoke as main speakers, alongside heads of several state child and women commissions and with Priyank Kanoongo as Chief Guest. We began this fight in the Supreme Court last year, where we filed our own intervention against the proposal, enabled ten more and intervened again after the Court described the 15 to 18 age group as one of experimentation. We secured the safe return of a minor girl in Bihar who had gone missing on 11 July and remained untraced for three weeks. After we complained to the National Human Rights Commission and Priyank Kanoongo issued prompt notice to the Bihar police for her urgent recovery, she was brought home. We moved the National Human Rights Commission over a conversion racket in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, that ran under the cover of a multi-level marketing network and lured, among others, a childless couple with the promise that they would be blessed with children if they converted and attended church. The local police had registered a case under the anti-conversion law but left out the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, which bars false advertising. We pressed for it to be added.
On our complaint the Commission took cognisance and issued notice to the Commissioner of Police and the District Magistrate, Lucknow. We also pushed for the finances of the marketing network behind the racket to be investigated. Details: http://x.com/sewanyaya/status/2087532106125578422

𝟒. Vijay Kumar, a cab driver from a Scheduled Caste community was stabbed to death in a robbery in East Delhi on 23 July. He was the sole breadwinner and is survived by his widow and two young daughters, aged five and three. We sought urgent financial relief and any statutory compensation available to the family under the Victim Compensation Scheme, along with protection and rehabilitation, and a specific assurance that the two children can continue their education.

𝟓. Conducted an educational session for vulnerable citizens in Rohini, Delhi, about anti-conversion laws enacted by various states and exploitation tactics used by faith-healing rackets. Our team member Ajay Yadav taught residents to recognise a conversion racket before it closes on them. We showed them how these networks single out people in distress, exploit their illness with a false promise of healing and work to strip them of their ancestral identity.

𝟔. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘂, 𝗝𝗼𝗱𝗵𝗽𝘂𝗿, 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀

We ran a three-hour self-defence camp for students at Kairu, Jodhpur, on 5 August. The children learned to stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions, use whatever is at hand for protection and apply practical self-defence techniques, and they trained with enthusiasm and left with skill, confidence and awareness. 𝟕. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗱𝗵𝗽𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗽

We ran another three-hour self-defence workshop for girls and boys at Ashok Udyan Ground in Jodhpur. The children learned to read a threat, decide fast under pressure and break free of a grip, and every child left more aware, more confident and harder to catch off guard. Under the mentorship of Sanjeev Newar, we are running a comprehensive and expansive programme to build crucial skills in children, introducing them to the basic tactics to fend off attackers and predators.

𝟴. Financially aided a centre in Delhi’s Okhla Nagar that provides free-of-cost education, computer literacy and nutritious meals to 100 underprivileged, slum-dwelling children daily. The centre is run by Rajkumar, who is physically challenged and belongs to a scheduled caste. Despite severe physical challenges, he has spent more than 15 years teaching children, and we back his work so the centre can keep running.

𝟵. Around 150 Pakistani Hindu refugee and underprivileged children continued free martial arts and self-defence training at our full-time Jodhpur centre. We started the centre in 2023, catering to Pakistani Hindu refugee children. Today, it also serves children and youth from other underprivileged migrant communities.

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗜𝗦 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟

Unlawful conversion mafias are a demographic threat that the Home Ministry has taken up as a top priority. They do not merely exploit. They break the foundations of Bharat and target the vulnerable in the most unthinkable ways. Any passivity here is a direct threat to our children, vulnerable families, culture, future, and sovereignty.
