On our complaint, the National Human Rights Commission took cognisance and directed the Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad (UP) to inquire and submit an Action Taken Report in a sexual assault-blackmail-forced conversion case involving a Class 12 schoolgirl in Indirapuram. She was reportedly befriended by a youth who concealed his identity, administered sedatives through food, took her to his residence, assaulted her and later used the footage to pressure her to adopt his religion. We pressed for a strict and impartial investigation, the invocation of the POCSO Act as the victim is a minor, and action under the anti-conversion law.

On our complaint, the National Human Rights Commission took cognisance and directed the Superintendent of Police, Chhatarpur (MP) to inquire and submit an Action Taken Report in a case of alleged sexual violence and caste-based atrocities against a woman by advocate Imtiaz Siddiqui. He reportedly misused his professional position to target, assault and intimidate her, with threats to prevent her from approaching the law. We sought his arrest under the relevant criminal and SC/ST Act provisions, full police protection, legal and medical support for the survivor, and disciplinary action by the Bar Council.

On our representation, the National Human Rights Commission directed the District Magistrate, Maharajganj, Lucknow (UP) to furnish a status report on compliance with the Allahabad High Court order of 21 November 2025 in the Jitendra Sahani case. The Court directed the DM to inquire into the religion of the applicant, an accused in a case connected with unlawful conversion who claimed Hindu identity in his affidavit, and to take strict action if forgery is found. The Court further directed all DMs across UP to act within four months against fraudulent claims of Scheduled Caste status by religious converts. We asked the Commission to call for a compliance report from the Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh and to issue directions to protect genuine Scheduled Caste citizens.

On our complaint, the National Human Rights Commission took cognisance and directed the Commissioner of Police, Lucknow to inquire and submit an Action Taken Report on an inducement-driven conversion syndicate in Bhadesuwa village, Mohanlalganj. Impoverished families were reportedly lured into conversion with material inducements such as sewing machines, water coolers, bicycles, goats and chickens, and a revenue team surveying the church land was obstructed by the caretaker and his family. We sought an FIR against those obstructing public servants, an inquiry into the conversion network, and verification of the Scheduled Caste certificates and benefits of the accused.
๐ฒ. Over 150 Pakistani Hindu refugee and underprivileged children continued their self-defence training at our full-time Jodhpur-based martial arts centre that has been operational for more than 2.5 years. We run the centre free of cost, and it has grown into a steady programme for children and youth from refugee and other underprivileged migrant communities.

We moved the National Human Rights Commission for urgent intervention in the case of a five-month pregnant woman in Banaskantha who was subjected to repeated sexual assault, physical torture, video blackmail and a forced nikah. Through death threats and threats to abduct her minor daughters, the accused had earlier coerced her into a compromise affidavit to secure bail, and continued to assault her after their release. Although an FIR was registered at Dhanera under the anti-conversion law and the criminal code, no arrests had been made. We pressed for immediate arrests and protection for the woman and her children.

We filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission over the online grooming, cyber harassment and coerced conversion of an eleven-year-old girl in Nagpur. A man established contact with the child through social media, groomed her, pressed her to change her religion, and created an unauthorised profile in her name to post recordings of their video calls and obscene material. The case was registered under the POCSO Act, the Information Technology Act and the criminal code, and the accused was arrested. We sought a status report on the forensic analysis, the removal of the unauthorised content, and psychological counselling and safety for the child.

We moved the National Human Rights Commission over a suspected foreign-funded network directing money towards proselytisation and conversion in Rajasthan. According to enforcement agency findings, a pastor and his associate, affiliated with a Jaipur โministryโ, received foreign remittances without the mandatory permissions by misrepresenting the purpose, and the funds were directed at converting vulnerable Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe individuals across Jaipur and the tribal regions of southern Rajasthan. We requested directions to monitor, investigate and curb such organised, foreign-funded conversion drives, verification of the caste credentials of the accused, and cancellation of any Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe certificate and benefits found to be held while facilitating conversion.
๐ญ๐ฌ. We continued our monthly financial aid to a Divyang-run centre in Okhla Nagar, Delhi, that provides free-of-cost education, computer literacy and nutritious meals to 100 underprivileged, slum-dwelling children every day. We back the centre so it can keep running and so these children can grow with dignity.

We took up a series of cases where vulnerable, tribal and Scheduled Caste families were targeted for conversion through inducement, superstition and coercion, and escalated each to the authorities.
โ Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh. A bereaved tribal family was exploited through manufactured superstitious fear and material inducement, with the accused sprinkling water, placing a Bible in a family member’s hand and pressing conversion. The accused were caught and handed to the police, and an FIR was registered under the anti-conversion law. We moved for a time-bound probe into the wider network.
โ Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. A jobless and unwell youth was lured on a false job promise, taken to a prayer meeting and converted without informed consent, then assaulted and threatened when he sought to return to his faith. His complaint had lain without an FIR, and we pressed for immediate registration, protection and a probe into the network behind it.
โ Meja, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Under the guise of faith-healing gatherings, marginalised families were subjected to inducement and pressure to change their faith, and an FIR was registered against a large group. We sought a thorough, time-bound investigation into the organisers and the funding behind the assemblies.

We moved the National Human Rights Commission for the protection of an adult couple in Hathras who face grave death threats and harassment from the woman’s family after she embraced Hinduism of her own free will and married by Hindu rites. A legal affidavit affirming her voluntary conversion and marriage, without any coercion, was also executed. We sought immediate round-the-clock police protection for the couple and strict preventive and legal action against those issuing the threats.
