Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation brightened the life of a struggling woman by gifting her a sewing machine. The donation will empower her to generate additional income to support herself and her only son.

Background

The woman, Rinki Kol, lives in Shahdol town in Madhya Pradesh. She has struggled to make ends meet by working as a cleaning maid in a few neighbourhood houses. Her husband lives far away for employment but doesn’t make enough to send money home to the family. Rinku’s income is hardly enough to take care of basic needs. She was even unable to send her 8-year-old son to school.

The gift of a sewing machine will be a game-changer for Rinki, allowing her to start her own tailoring work. Along with the machine, we also gifted her a box of sewing threads and some clothes to kickstart her journey.

“I am so grateful for this gift. I can take care of myself and my son now.” Rinki said.

We wish Rinki the very best in this journey.
