New Delhi: An awareness session about unlawful conversion tactics used by so-called faith-healing gatherings and through relationships built on concealed identity was conducted by Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation in Nihal Vihar, Delhi on 21 June 2026.
Participants were informed about how individuals facing health problems, financial difficulties, or emotional distress may be targeted through promises of miraculous healing or instant solutions.
The session discussed the methods through which vulnerable individuals and families are allegedly drawn toward religious conversion through such gatherings.
The workshop, conducted in association with Sudarshan Vahini, also addressed concerns regarding relationships initiated under concealed identity and used as a means of inducing religious conversion, along with their possible social, cultural, and family-related consequences.
Attendees were briefed on constitutional rights related to religious freedom, legal provisions concerning conversion through coercion, inducement, or deception, and the process for reporting suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. Participants were encouraged to approach law enforcement agencies if they come across any unlawful or misleading practices.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion during which attendees shared their views and sought clarification on legal procedures and reporting mechanisms.
The session is part of Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation’s ongoing programme to educate residents of jhuggi and low-income settlements across Delhi about unlawful conversions, superstitions and exploitative relationships.
