Jodhpur: A free self-defence seminar and training camp for girl students was organised by Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation at Housing Board Mahatma Gandhi School, Sector-11, Jodhpur on 11 July.
More than 300 girl students participated in the three-hour programme.
The session was conducted with support from the school administration and attended by members of the teaching staff.
The initiative was taken to equip school-going girls with practical self-defence skills, strengthen their confidence, and improve their preparedness to respond during emergency situations.
The training was led by Bharat Pannu, 4th Dan Black Belt Champion and trainer with Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation. Students received practical instruction on situational awareness, personal safety, maintaining composure under pressure, and techniques for escaping from potential attackers.
A range of martial arts and self-defence methods was demonstrated, followed by supervised practical exercises to help participants apply the techniques correctly.
Addressing the students, Bharat Pannu spoke on the importance of self-defence education for girls and encouraged them to keep practising the techniques learned during the workshop.
Teachers observed the training activities alongside the students throughout the programme.
At the conclusion of the session, the school administration thanked Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation for conducting the free training camp, noting that such initiatives help improve awareness of personal safety among young students.
Bananas and other seasonal fresh fruits were distributed to participating students as refreshments after the training.
The Jodhpur programme is part of the Foundation’s continuing efforts to promote practical self-defence education among children and youth through community-based outreach – under mentorship and vision of founder Sanjeev Newar.
