𝟏. 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗜𝗥 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗧 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲

We complained to the National Human Rights Commission that children as young as 3 to 12 years were being repeatedly filmed, scripted and made to perform abusive and politically charged content for social-media traction on an Instagram handle stated to be operated from the Marehra area of Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Our complaint cited publicly available digital records comprising more than 1,000 videos, along with evidence identifying the location of the tuition operator. The Bench headed by Priyank Kanoongo took strong cognisance and directed Etah police and administration to identify the adult scripting, prompting, recording and uploading the videos and to register FIRs wherever cognisable offences are disclosed. Meta India was directed to explain how repeated use of minors was permitted and to disclose whether the content generated any monetisation. After notices were issued, Etah police filed an FIR against the operator of the account under child laws and the account was pulled down. Meta India and the IT ministry were also issued notices to explain why such content was allowed, and all four authorities were asked to submit Action Taken Reports within two weeks. 𝟐. 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗖𝗝𝗣 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗫 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗧 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲

We legally escalated the matter after videos emerged of a child being held above the crowd at the CJP protest in Mumbai on 2 October while slogans were being raised. This was preceded by reports of purported group chats planning the use of children in the gathering well in advance. Taking cognisance of our complaint, Priyank Kanoongo issued notices to Mumbai Police, the IT ministry, X and Maharashtra’s women and child development department, with directions to probe, preserve and examine digital evidence, identify those involved, assess possible violations of child-protection laws and file FIRs wherever cognisable offences are disclosed. All four were directed to submit Action Taken Reports within one week.

Through our legal arm @NetworkforJus, we filed an application seeking to intervene in the Supreme Court proceedings in the 2025 Damoh Mission Hospital case, placing on record the subsequent developments, including the criminal proceedings and the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s December 2025 order. In early 2025, Mission Hospital in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, became the subject of investigation after seven patients died following cardiac procedures associated with a man whose medical credentials were questioned. The subsequent probe suggested not only forgery but also irregularities involving the Ayushman Bharat/PM-JAY framework. Our application asks the Court to seek a comprehensive status report on the investigation, arrests and coercive action, including for the Ayushman Bharat proceedings. It also seeks payment of any recommended compensation to the families of the seven deceased patients and the preservation of relevant evidence.

𝟒. 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀

We stood with the families of two minor girls from Delhi who had been missing for two weeks, and both were rescued this week. In the first case, a 12-year-old girl had gone to Punjab with a man she had been chatting with on Instagram. Our team stood with her mother and advocate @adumeshsharma filed a habeas corpus petition in court, after which police traced and rescued her and reunited her with her mother. She is being counselled by the Child Welfare Committee for a possible POCSO case, and we remain in constant touch with her mother. In the second case, our team helped the family file an FIR and assisted them in the subsequent police investigation, and the girl was recovered from Rajkot, Gujarat. That on-ground effort was led by @RealAzadVinod. Details: https://x.com/swati_gs/status/2104905253477142801

𝟓. 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲

We legally escalated four grave cases this week, and the authorities were put on notice in each.

  • Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. We moved the National Human Rights Commission seeking protection for a family who say they were subjected to pressure, inducements, intimidation and harassment to renounce their religion and were threatened when they refused. The Commission took cognisance, noting that the allegations prima facie seem to be violations of human rights, and directed the Commissioner of Police, Kanpur, to get them inquired into and submit an Action Taken Report within two weeks.
  • Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. We escalated to higher authorities the case of a young woman facing coercive pressure to convert, stalking and death threats. Notices were issued to the Bareilly Superintendent of Police and District Magistrate to submit an Action Taken Report within two weeks.
  • Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. We legally escalated the case of a Hindu teacher couple from a Scheduled Caste community who have alleged pressure to convert to another religion by five individuals associated with a Pentecostal group. The National Human Rights Commission ordered an inquiry and directed the district’s police commissioner to submit an Action Taken Report within two weeks.
  • Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Following the death by suicide of a Class 11 schoolgirl in the Bhapchalana police-station area, we sought directions from the Human Rights Commission for a status report on the criminal case. Her parents have alleged that after she complained of sustained harassment by a male classmate from another religious community, her teacher scolded her and told her not to come to school. Notices were issued to Ujjain police and administration.

𝟔. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗩𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮

Under our Unlawful Conversion Prevention and Reclamation program, we stood by a family and two couples who returned to Vedic Sanatana Dharma.

  • Biswanath Chariali, Assam. We are rehabilitating a family that formally embraced Vedic Sanatana Dharma. They had converted in 2018 under the influence of a Pentecostal group that promised them miraculous treatment from diseases if they left worshipping their Hindu deities.
  • Lakhimpur, Assam. We extended financial support to a tribal couple whose relatives barred them from their own house on their return to Vedic Sanatana Dharma after two generations of conversion. Initially left homeless but given land by the Hindu tribal samaj, the couple can now build their house using the funds.
  • Our team assisted a woman who wished to leave what she described as an oppressive system of personal laws governing marriages and embrace Vedic Dharma. The effort was led by @RealAzadVinod, who facilitated her vivah ceremony with the man she has chosen to live her life with. Both are adults, and we provided the couple access to safety and rehabilitation.

We demanded stronger safeguards against minors’ access to pornographic content, including mandatory age verification, and the demand was widely covered in the national media. It was made at a press conference led by former Central Information Commissioner Uday Mahurkar and joined by our founder Sanjeev Newar, advocate Vishnu Jain, advocate Amita Sachdeva, advocate Vineet Jindal and activist Yogita Bhayana. The demand called on the Indian government to bring in policies for greater accountability and safeguards and sought a law to stop internet service providers allowing obscene content using AI. We escalated to the local authorities the case of an unlicensed meat and kebab shop opened illegally by a couple in a residential colony in Bindapur, Delhi, and the authorities acted immediately and got it closed down. An elderly resident had complained of smell and smoke, and his son and his wife, who confronted the shop owner, say they faced casteist abuse and threats. The on-ground effort was led by @DeepakMalik_1. Details: https://x.com/swati_gs/status/2105624754921275399

Under our ongoing program to train college students about organised sexual grooming and rape-blackmail-conversion gangs, we held sessions at People’s University in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on two days this week, with over 300 students trained to recognise, resist and report these crimes. The later session covered anti-ragging laws, the POSH Act, grooming and coercion, consent and student rights. The program is executed along with our legal arm @NetworkforJus and has so far reached more than 10,000 students across 200 campuses of Bhopal. In September, it was launched in Meerut as well. We held a special workshop in Kachi Basti, Badu Market, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, educating villagers about conversion traps laid in the name of miracle-healing and the state laws to deal with these traps. By the end, we won their assurance that they would not fall for them, and our team distributed awareness pamphlets across the entire village.

Our Jodhpur team held a Self Defence and Child Safety Awareness Camp at Mount Valley International School in the Doli area, where over 100 students learnt advanced self-defence techniques, practical ways to stay safe in difficult situations and how to tell a good touch from a bad touch. 𝟏𝟐. Over 150 Pakistani Hindu refugee and other underprivileged children continued their self-defence training at our full-time Jodhpur centre. We run the centre free of cost under our dedicated martial arts program, which also reaches about 500 children through special workshops.
