On May 14, 2026, a deeply concerning incident occured in Okhla Phase-II, New Delhi.
A 12-year-old minor girl was targeted for a sexual assault inside her residence by an individual named Parvez, an employee at a commercial welding shop operating directly below the family’s quarters.
The perpetrator used a logistical pretext – pretending to retrieve shop keys – to exploit a window of time when the child was temporarily unattended.
The minor demonstrated exceptional resilience, successfully physically resisting the assailant to escape the room and raise an alarm. Following immediate community mobilization, a formal complaint was processed by the Delhi Police under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation has officially escalated this matter to the highest human rights authorities.
We have submitted a formal petition to Shri Priyank Kanoongo (Member, NHRC) demanding immediate structural accountability.
Our team also visited the family to stand by them in this hour of crisis. We have provided financial assistance to the survivor.
This case highlights a broader, structural crisis in industrial pockets like Okhla, where economic realities force migrant, daily-wage parents to work long shifts, leaving children vulnerable to bad actors operating in close proximity.
The Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation will continue to monitor the investigative path of FIR No. 0297/2026 until a formal chargesheet is submitted and a strict conviction is achieved.
