In a quiet village of Jasa Ka Tola in Bihar’s Saran district, voices of awareness and empowerment echoed as the Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation held a special Human Rights Awareness event aimed at Dalit families—particularly from the Dusadh community.

The event, held in Revelganj block, was graced by National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Member Shri Priyank Kanoongo. He addressed the villagers directly, speaking about their fundamental rights, protections under the law, and how to stand strong against social exploitation and deceptive conversion attempts.

“This outreach wasn’t just about information—it was about dignity,” said Swati Goel Sharma, journalist and founder of the Foundation. “When people know their rights, they become harder to exploit. That’s where true change begins.”

To make the effort holistic and inclusive, the Foundation distributed new clothes to over 100 adults and gave stationery kits to every child in the village—reinforcing that awareness must be accompanied by care and dignity.

The event concluded on a powerful note as the community pledged to uphold constitutional values, preserve cultural harmony, and protect their rights with renewed confidence.
