Under our nationwide legal action campaign against conversion-linked faith-healing rackets, we legally escalated the matter of street hoardings in Bathinda, Punjab, advertising a prayer sabha that promised relief from illnesses through “special prayers”. Notices were issued to Punjab’s Drug Controller, the Bathinda SSP, the District Magistrate, and the Principal Secretary of the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development, asking them to inquire into the event under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act. An educational session was held at NAS College, Meerut, UP, for building a communally safe and secure campus, reaching about 100 students and faculty members, in participation with @networkforjus team. The team also took part in the Anti-Ragging Committee meeting at Ismail National Mahila PG College, Meerut.
Our team ran the day’s martial arts and self-defence training at our full-time centre in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, for Pakistani Hindu refugee and other underprivileged children. The centre has grown into a steady program for children and youth from refugee and other underprivileged migrant communities.
