West Champaran, Bihar: In an ongoing mission to uplift Bharat’s most neglected communities, Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation reached out to the residents of Bharpatiya Pathak Tola, a remote village in West Champaran district.

The village is home to extremely poor families from historically marginalised communities, living in conditions marked by neglect and lack of basic support.

The Foundation’s team, led by Swati Goel Sharma, personally visited the village to distribute clothes, essential daily-use items, and food supplies. The outreach aimed not just to provide relief, but to affirm dignity, respect, and the spirit of constitutional equality. The event, held jointly by Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation and Agni Samaj, was graced by Priyank Kanoongo, honourable member of National Human Rights Commission.

Kanoongo delivered a powerful speech on constitutional safeguards for Dalit communities and informed them about their rights.

Many residents of Bharpatiya live in kaccha homes and face chronic unemployment and social isolation. Cut off from developmental programs and struggling with low literacy, they are often easy targets for predatory forces. The Foundation’s visit was both a humanitarian mission and a step towards protecting cultural resilience.

“These are our fellow Bharatiyas – equal in spirit, equal in rights. Our work is to remind them of that, and to remind the rest of the nation not to forget them,” said Swati Goel Sharma, founder of Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation.
