A fire at a factory in Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh left several slum-dwelling families in distress, damaging their homes and burning essential belongings.

Many families were left without basic protection from the heat, dust and open sky.

In response, Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation (SNU), in partnership with Sudarshan Vahini, reached the affected settlement and distributed tarpaulin sheets to families impacted by the fire.

For families living in jhuggis, a tarpaulin sheet serves as immediate emergency shelter – a temporary roof, wall and shield – until they are able to begin rebuilding their lives.

SNU remains committed to supporting the affected families through relief and rehabilitation efforts.
