Sewa Nyaya Utthan Intervenes in Case of Sexual Assault of Six-Year-Old Girl in Delhi; Meets Survivor, Takes Case to NHRC, Commits to Her Rehabilitation and Education

New Delhi, February 2026: Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation has intervened in the case of the sexual assault of a six-year-old girl in the Jafrabad area of northeast Delhi, undertaking immediate ground action, legal intervention and committing to rehabilitation support for the child and her family.

Representatives of the Foundation visited the victim and her family at their residence, and documented the circumstances surrounding the incident, the family’s condition, and the gaps in post-crime support.

The Foundation also interacted with the parents to assess the child’s psychological state, safety concerns and the impact of the incident on her education and the family’s livelihood.

The Foundation has formally written to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), seeking cognisance of the case as a grave violation of a minor child’s rights and requesting a probe, adequate compensation and structured rehabilitation measures.

The Foundation has committed to supporting the girl’s continued schooling, including assistance for a safe learning environment.

“The assault of a six-year-old is a complete breakdown of child protection,” said Swati Goel Sharma, Director, Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation. “Our intervention is focused on ensuring that the child is not abandoned after the initial outrage fades and that she receives justice, rehabilitation and a future free from fear.”

She said the Foundation will continue to monitor the case, pursue institutional accountability, and work to ensure that the child and her family receive sustained support during this critical period.
