Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation, run by Sanjeev Newar and Swati Goel Sharma, got four Pakistani Hindu refugee kids to compete against engineering undergrads in Tryst, IIT-Delhi’s robotics competition. This development was covered in many newspapers including The Times of India.
The students are in class 5 and class 6 and study at SNU Foundation‘s Vidya Kendra in Jodhpur.
The girls – Sandhya Bheel (studying in class 6), Muskan Bheel (studying in class 6), Reshma Bheel (studying in class 5) and Aarti Bheel (studying in class 5) – were the youngest participants at this fest (Tryst, IIT Delhi). They competed against engineering undergrads.
The Vidya Kendra was opened in a Jodhpur Pakistani Hindu camp last year by Swati Goel Sharma, a journalist and founder of Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation. The students were trained for robotics and Science by Sanjeev Newar, an alumnus of IIT and IIM.
